The cooler months are May to September, and the hotter months December to March.
			The annual ‘long rains’ fall between April and June, and the milder ‘short rains’ in November. Following the rains the garden at Diani becomes very lush, which is much enjoyed by the wildlife.
			Best fishing months: September to March. N.B. Our fishing boat is not usually available between April and August. Best scuba diving & snorkeling months: October to March. Best windsurfing, kiting & sailing months: July to October, and December to March.
			The Shimba Hills reach an altitude of 1200 feet (400 meters) and catch the moist clouds that come in off the sea. The resulting rain-forests are cool and green and filled with butterflies, birds and flowering orchids. Temperatures vary a great deal across the country, but generally the coast is warm to hot and days on safari are warm to hot with cooler nights.
